I am Legend by Will Smith

I really loved this movie that starred Will Smith as the sole survivor in a worldwide virus that had almost left the world lifeless, at least as far as sane human beings are concerned. It was somehow terrifying when i watched the beginning but later on i began to understand it. It's a very nice movie

Who really is the legend then? I guess that was understood when he ended up dying. I would have preferred it if he was the hero and not legend. I didn't like the way he had to die
